MASA works closely with martial arts clubs and instructors to help them follow national laws and regulations.
This includes ensuring they meet safeguarding standards to protect children, women, and vulnerable individuals from harm.
When clubs are registered and compliant, it keeps our students and communities safe from unqualified or unaffiliated individuals who might put others at risk. All sports in South Africa, including martial arts, must follow government and sporting code regulations. By doing this, we ensure our students train in safe environments and our instructors meet the highest standards.
Safeguarding and Protection:
Protecting children and vulnerable individuals is one of MASA’s top priorities. We guide our members to:
* Complete the necessary training and certifications.
* Obtain clearances to ensure they can work safely with children and the public.
* Understand and follow local laws for hosng events, health and safety protocols, and other important regulations.
When clubs and instructors follow these rules, parents and students can trust they are in safe hands. MASA also works to educate communities about the importance of safety in martial arts schools and events.
Supporting Clubs and Athletes:
MASA is the national governing body for martial arts styles in South Africa. We help clubs and organisations meet the requirements needed to award provincial and national colours. If a club cannot provide its own platform for athletes to achieve these accolades, MASA steps in to ensure opportunities are available to all
members.
